Hardferm biogas Plant

Hardferm biogas plant, to be constructed by a Finnish company Doranova Oy and its Namibian partner Alpha Namibia Industries Renewable Energy Power Limited.
When completed, the plant will turn sewage waste and farming residuals into electricity, heat and biofertilizers. The plant will improve sanitation in Ondangwa as well as reduce the town’s dependency on imported electricity.
The project is partially financed by The Energy and Environment Partnership Trust Fund (EEP Africa,, a trust fund that finances innovative ideas with potential to tackle climate change and reduce carbon emissions. When fully operational, the Ondangwa biogas plant will reduce CO2 emissions by 2,330 tons annually.
